SPS Dedicates New Community Mural in Vallejo

Here at Security Public Storage, we believe that adding beautiful works of art to our exterior buildings enhances the neighborhoods we call home. In January, we dedicated our 13th community mural, one of our largest to date at over 300’ long, covering nearly 3,000 sq.ft! Members of the Vallejo community joined us as we dedicated our newest mural. We have seen the ways that public art encourages growth and camaraderie in our communities, which is why we continue to prioritize large-scale mural installations at our storage facilities on the West Coast and in the Washington DC metro area.

SPS Dedicates New Mural in Vallejo, CA

The large-scale mural in Vallejo celebrates the city’s diversity. Vallejo was named the most diverse city in the US in a 2012 Brown University study, and the most diverse in California based on the 2017 American Community Survey and the 2010 US census.

Our Vallejo mural was completed in September 2022, and we have been bowled over by the response! It seems everyone who drives by our property on Sonoma Boulevard has noticed it. In fact, there has been talk of a mini Renaissance in the neighborhood, with the possibility of more community art — including more murals!

We invited the community to our mural dedication and Grand Re-Opening that took place on Thursday, January 19, 2023. Other upgrades to our Vallejo storage facility include an office building makeover, new paint, signage, lighting and landscaping. The Vallejo community showed up to enjoy refreshments, mural mementos including stickers, and of course the dedication of our latest community mural project.

Our mural in Vallejo was designed and painted by Jerry Ragg of Mural Decor, and we’re over the moon with the results!

We’re not going to slow down yet — our next mural project is already scheduled and in the planning stages at our storage facility in Manteca, California.
