Toys for Tots
Security Public Storage started our partnership with the US Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots back in 1997. Over the years, the number of participating facilities grew until 2014 when we reached 100% participation by all of our locations. SPS is proud to support the Toys for Tots program every year because we believe in their goal that “through the gift of a new toy, [we can] help bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America’s less fortunate children.” In 2023, we are excited to celebrate our 26th consecutive year partnering with Toys for Tots.
Annual Toy Donation Drive
Each year, SPS participates in a Toys for Tots donation drive at all of our self-storage facilities across the West Coast and the Washington DC metro area. Beginning on October 3, staff, customers and community members can donate new toys in the designated bins at our facilities. The Toys for Tots donation drive at SPS typically lasts through the first week of December. We then tally up the toy count at each of our locations and the gifts are distributed throughout our local communities. The Toys for Tots program has been a bright spot for many families across the country, sending a message of hope to children in our communities.

How to Donate
Donating to Toys for Tots at SPS is simple. Purchase new, unwrapped toys and bring them to the SPS storage facility nearest you. We have bins available at every location, you just need to place the donation in the bins and that’s it! If you would like, we have started accepting online donations. To donate this way, order from your favorite online retailer (Amazon, for example) and have the donation shipped directly to the SPS location nearest you. This option is great if you prefer a touch-free experience or won’t be able to make it in person to drop off a donation. We appreciate you in any way you are able to contribute to this cause.
About Toys for Tots
US Marine Corps Reserve Bill Henricks took inspiration from his wife, Diane, back in 1947. Diane handcrafted several dolls and asked Bill to deliver them to an agency that supports children. When Bill failed to find such an organization, it made way for what we now know as the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation. The Foundation raises funds, collects and purchases toys, manages funds, educates the public, solicits corporate support, and provides promotional and support materials. Toys for Tots distributes on average 18 million toys to 7 million children each year.
Donate to Toys for Tots at SPS Storage Facilities
Each year, SPS participates in the Marine Corps Toys for Tots donation drive by collecting new toys at all of our self storage facilities. Please join us between October 3 and December 1 this year to help children in our local communities by donating to Toys for Tots at the SPS storage facility nearest you. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of children and families in the areas surrounding our sites.
