Santa Rosa, CA
Neighborhood

Security Public Storage has deep ties to the Santa Rosa community. Our facility manager, Terry Hemenes, took over management responsibilities in 2013 from her mother who had been with the company since 1994. When you see Terry’s familiar face at SPS Santa Rosa, you know you’re in good hands.

Store your belongings at Security Public Storage on Hopper Ave means you have access to many of the wonderful places we love in our Santa Rosa neighborhood. We’re proud to be an active member of the Santa Rosa community and wanted to share some of our favorite museums, wineries, restaurants and public spaces with you.

SONOMA COUNTY
is for Wine Lovers

Santa Rosa, located 55 miles north of San Francisco in the heart of urban wine country, offers residents and visitors a cool vibe and vibrant culture. Visit a wealth of Sonoma County wineries, all within minutes of our Santa Rosa self storage facility on Hopper Ave. Kendall-Jackson, one of the highest-selling brands of premium wine in the United States, operates their Wine Estate and Gardens nearby.

In addition to nationally renowned wineries, Santa Rosa is brimming with small production and family-owned vineyards. Whether you’re a wine aficionado or new to the scene, you’ll find the perfect glass of wine to meet your specific taste in Santa Rosa. Donelan Family Wines, located a quick three-minute drive from SPS Santa Rosa, features Syrah, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Rhone blends from Sonoma County that may easily become your new favorite. Inspiration Vineyards and Winery, uses the finest grapes grown in Sonoma County to produce high-quality, food-friendly wines at an affordable price.

Need a break from the vino? Visit La Rosa Tequileria and Grill for modern Mexican cuisine paired alongside more than 180 tequilas and mezcals. La Rosa offers daily tequila flight tastings and are eager to guide you through the world of agave. Over at Carmen’s Bistro and Bar, treat yourself to loaded fries or one of their famous burgers – like the Green Apple and Brie Burger. Both restaurants offer patio seating so you can dine al fresco.

COMMUNITY
Rebuilding

Our Santa Rosa neighborhood is strong. We know how to come together to support one another. In 2017, the Tubbs fire devastated our facility and the surrounding community. In the years since, the SPS team has been a part of the community-wide rebuilding efforts. We’re proud to be part of a community of residents, business owners and public employees who demonstrate what’s possible when we work together.

Explore
SANTA ROSA
Inside and Out

Beyond Wine Country, Santa Rosa offers opportunities for growth and exploration indoors and out. We often recommend our customers visit the Charles M. Schultz Museum and Research Center. The museum is dedicated to the works of Charles M. Schultz, the creator of the Peanuts comic strip. Permanent exhibits include Schultz’s personal studio and tributes to him from other artists. Inside, you’ll also find three rotating galleries with exhibits that change annually.

Outside, visit Safari West, a 400-acre private wildlife preserve located 12 miles north of Santa Rosa. The wildlife preserve includes species native to Africa, including giraffes, rhinoceros, cape buffalo, watusi cattle, antelope, cheetahs, zebras, hyenas, primates and numerous species of birds. The park is one of only six accredited private zoological facilities in the United States and it includes vacation lodging.

In 2021, SPS completed a community mural the complete length of our buildings depicting the riches of Sonoma County. The design celebrates Charles M. Schulz, as well as giant redwood trees, hot air balloons, Luther Burbank and other images representative of the Santa Rosa community. This project generated a lot of buzz and enthusiasm within the neighborhood and we’re so pleased to be able to make people smile as they drive down Hopper Ave.
