After a long day loading or unloading your storage unit, Fieldwork Brewing Company provides the perfect solution — cold, delicious, craft beers in an industrial setting. Fieldwork has been putting in the work creating an ever-changing tap list since 2015. Choose from lagers, sours, Belgians, a range of hoppy IPAs and dark beers. Try a variety of brews when you order the sampler flight and take your favorites to-go with 16oz cans, growlers and 32oz crowler fills.

On cool, rainy days, we love ordering food from Pho Element. You can’t beat their signature pho when you’re looking to warm up from the inside out. Try the imperial rolls, their crispy exterior will have you dreaming about that crunch even after you’ve finished your meal. You’ll also love their flavorful pho broth. We keep coming back to Pho Element time and time again for the quick and friendly service, delicious food and portion sizes.

Sapporo Rock & Roll Sushi serves just that. Your favorite sushi rolls and sake served in a restaurant decorated with paintings of rock stars and rolls named for your favorite musicians. You’ll love the laid back environment, kind chefs and servers and classic rock playing from the rooftop speakers. In addition to delicious sushi rolls, the appetizers at Sapporo Rock & Roll Sushi, like the wagyu gyoza, for example, definitely stand out.

Explore the
Natural World

One of the most fun and intriguing places to visit in San Mateo is CuriOdyssey, a museum for children focusing on environmental science and wildlife. CuriOdyssey allows kids to observe the natural world in a scientific environment. View wild animals, experiment with scientific phenomena and explore the natural world. CuriOdyssey, in partnership with San Mateo County Parks, has helped children grow at their science playground and zoo for many years. You won’t want the child in your life to miss out on the experience!

The Japanese Garden in San Mateo is another amazing attraction. We recommend going in the spring when all of the cherry blossoms are in bloom for a complete sensory experience. The Gardens were designed by landscape architect Nagao Sakurai, of the Imperial Palace of Tokyo. The grounds include a granite pagoda, koi pond, bamboo grove, and tea house. Visit during the spring or summer to watch public koi fish feedings.
