COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
in Hayes Valley

Charles, SPS San Francisco’s facility manager since 2010, has worked hard to build relationships within the Hayes Valley neighborhood. SPS has partnered with Civic Center Community Ambassadors and L’Academy Language Immersion Preschool to keep our streets clean and safe. SPS also works with the Red Cross to help displaced individuals, such as those affected by fires or other tragedies. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, we have worked with our customers to help during difficult times.

San Francisco’s
PERFORMING ARTS
district

The Hayes Valley neighborhood experienced a vibrant rebirth after the city demolished the Central Freeway following a major earthquake. This urban, innovative and creative community evolved to become San Francisco’s Performing Arts District. Within minutes of SPS you’ll find SF Jazz Center, the San Francisco Girls Chorus, Davies Symphony Hall and the San Francisco Opera. Visit your storage unit between 3pm and 6pm when the Girls Chorus rehearses and indulge in the beautiful sounds filling the space.

Situated directly across from Patricia’s Green, a park in the middle of the action, you’ll find Proxy, an outdoor, multi-purpose space that hosts art exhibits and events like movie screenings. The space also includes converted shipping containers inhabited by boutique shops, coffee and juice bars.

At SPS, we love brightening the communities we call home with large-scale community murals highlighting the history and culture of each area. In San Francisco, our building depicts the performing arts and culture aspects of the Hayes Valley neighborhood. The mural brilliantly showcases the movement and vibrancy of the San Francisco jazz scene through color and texture. We’re proud to add such a colorful and beloved mural to the Hayes Valley neighborhood.
