Aldas is known for their use of Ube, a purple yam originally from the Philippines, which is commonly used in desserts. Taqueria Acatlan is one of our favorite nearby taco shops in Pittsburg. We love picking up delicious Mexican food from this small taqueria on Railroad Avenue. Taqueria Acatlan offers a variety of meats to fill your tacos, burritos, quesadillas and tortas. Choose from standbys like carnitas and shredded beef tacos or take a walk on the wild side and order the Cow’s Brain, Cow’s Head or tongue tacos. The prices and the flavor can’t be beat!

Located just a few miles away in Antioch, you’ll love the nostalgia of Hazel’s Drive-In, which has been a landmark of the area dining scene for decades. This classic American burger joint has been serving diners carside on roller skates for many years, but unfortunately the pandemic has paused this aspect of the dining experience. You can still get a delicious burger, fries and a milkshake to go and you won’t be sorry. Hazel’s is the perfect place to go post-adventure to refuel.

This beautiful 8-acre park offers great options for entertaining your children under 12 years old. Play in the play structures, ride the train that circles the park or hop on the kid’s zipline. Small World Park also includes a castle, ponds, crawdad fishing and carnival rides. The park is open seasonally.
