If you’re looking for delicious, home-cooked island food, you’ll easily find yourself a regular at Katalina’s Island Grill. You’ll love the savory taste of the sweet potatoes, pork sausage and corned beef palusami. Chicken curry with rice is another one of our favorite dishes. Don’t forget to quench your thirst with a mango otai, which is a refreshing Tongan beverage.
Sometimes, a tasty hot dog is exactly what’s going to hit the spot. Casper’s Famous Hot Dogs is a retro counter-service hot dog stand that’s famed for its franks. Casper dogs are known for the signature “snap” at first bite, which comes from the casing around the hot dogs themselves. Casper’s has been serving mouthwatering hot dogs for generations, since opening in 1934. Now, the grandchildren of the founders run this classic hot dog stand, keeping it all in the family.
One of the questions we get most often is where can the best tacos in Hayward be found? Two words — Tacho’s Tacos. This food truck, located on Clawiter Road, serves up some of the best tacos around.
