San Pablo (2016)

San Pablo Community Mural

This SPS mural showcases the rich history and natural allure of San Pablo – renowned as the City of New Directions. We’ve embraced San Pablo’s essence through our collaboration with Murals by Morgan and McHale Creative. Positioned along San Pablo Dam Road, the mural prominently features the Alvarado Adobe, California poppies, and the Bay Bridge.

Alvarado Adobe – This historic landmark, which dates back to the early 19th century, now operates as a museum. Previously, it was the residence of Juan Alvarado, the governor of Mexican Alta California. It pays homage to San Pablo’s heritage and acknowledges those who preceded us.

California Poppy – As California’s state flower, the vibrant California poppies paint the cityscape with bursts of color and delicate fragrances, celebrating the region’s abundant natural beauty and ecological diversity.

Bay Bridge – Serving as San Pablo’s vital link to San Francisco and beyond, the Bay Bridge embodies the essence of the Bay Area. The bridge symbolizes connectivity and opportunity.

As SPS proudly showcases this mural, we stand alongside the local community, united in our shared appreciation for San Pablo’s history, culture, and future.
