Oceanside (2020)

Oceanside Community Mural

Our Oceanside mural was a welcome cause for celebration in the time of the pandemic, featuring five key sources of local pride—Junior Seau, Camp Pendleton, the municipal Harbor, the Top Gun House, and Oceanside’s surf culture. Design and installation: Mural Décor.

Oceanside Mural Painted by Jerry Ragg

Over several weeks in the summer of 2020, local mural artist Jerry Ragg, owner of Mural Decor, worked on the latest public art installation at SPS Oceanside. SPS proudly donates this mural as a gift to the citizens of Oceanside as a celebration of the culture and splendor of the Oceanside community. The mural features a nod to surf culture with a vintage VW van and surfers in the distance. You may also notice San Diego Chargers Hall of Famer Junior Seau (and his retired number 55) running into the sunset in the top left corner of the mural.

Jerry painted his first mural at age 8 and founded Mural Decor in 1986. He has lived in San Diego County since 2008 and is a 25-year resident of Southern California. His clients range from private collectors to small businesses and Fortune 500 companies. In addition to his mural painting business, Jerry also paints original fine art paintings inspired by nature and the old masters.

The mural is open to the public at our storage facility located at 1501 S Coast Highway, just off the I-5 Oceanside Blvd exit. We encourage you to see this stunning mural for yourself!
