Modesto Community Mural
Security Public Storage proudly dedicates our 15th community art mural, “Celebrating Modesto,” to the citizens of Modesto and the surrounding area, in celebration of the region’s rich heritage. Our community mural in Modesto spans 2,300 square feet of wall space along Carpenter Street and Woodland Avenue.
“Celebrating Modesto” was designed and painted by artist Jerry Ragg of Mural Decor. Since 2018, Jerry has been contributing his artistic talent to numerous SPS murals. Jerry happily noted the enthusiastic reception he received while working on this project. Many people from Modesto dropped by to provide positive comments on his designs and witness the evolution of his work. This interaction with the community is what makes these murals truly special. They stand as a way for people to come together and connect.
In 2023, we celebrate SPS’s 40th anniversary since opening our first two facilities in Modesto. We take special pride in the dedication of our second Central Valley community mural. This original location holds a special place in our hearts as it symbolizes where it all began – the foundation upon which we’ve built our service, values, and community engagement. It’s a way for us to give back and say, “Thank you, Modesto, for being an integral part of our journey.”
Celebrating Modesto’s Treasures
The five murals that make up “Celebrating Modesto” pay tribute to some of the city’s most beloved icons and industries.
American Graffiti Festival: A nod to Modesto’s famous connection to the classic film “American Graffiti,” this mural captures the essence of this beloved event and its role in the city’s culture.
Almond Production: Modesto is known for its lush almond orchards, and this mural showcases the beauty and importance of this industry to the region.
The Modesto Nuts: Baseball fans will appreciate the vibrant representation of the Modesto Nuts, a source of pride and entertainment for the city.
E&J Gallo Winery: This mural pays homage to the renowned E&J Gallo Winery, which has been a cornerstone of the Modesto community for decades.
