Dining Out in Sacramento
With a name like Top Choice Restaurant, it’s hard to go wrong. Top Choice Restaurant serves Chinese noodle dishes, specifically rice noodles from the city of Guilin, China. The noodles here are authentic and the service is friendly. Don’t go expecting egg drop or hot and sour soup like you’ve had at Chinese restaurants in the past. These noodles and soups shine with the Guilin-style rice noodles and the perfect balance of spicy and sour.
At Emma’s Tamales you’ll find a variety of vegetarian and vegan options, including tamales! Tamales typically use lard, but Emma’s Tamales makes them with vegetable oil instead, making them vegan-friendly. Emma’s also has a vegetarian chorizo, which you’ll almost want to give up meat for, if you aren’t already a vegetarian or vegan. More than just tamales, try the different salsas from their Mother Earth’s Vegan line of sauces, enchiladas, organic bean and cheese burritos and more!
Firehouse Crawfish serves your favorite seafood Cajun-style, specializing in seafood boils, including crawfish, shrimp, clams, mussels, and other delicacies from the sea. The restaurant opened in 2011 when a fireman decided to trade in his fire-retardant suit for an apron and help his now wife pursue her dream of opening a restaurant. At Firehouse Crawfish, you choose your favorite seafood, the flavor and the degree of heat. The original flavor is sweet cajun, but you can also choose from the Howling Cajun, Garlic Roasted, Lemon Pepper, and a handful of others.
