Fresh Foods in Martinez
At SPS, it’s well known that we love art and what better atmosphere to admire it than in a tasty Thai restaurant? Lemongrass Bistro serves dishes from Loas, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia in a space designed by local art students from the Academy of Art in San Francisco. We love dining at Lemongrass Bistro in downtown Martinez because of the complexity of the flavors, the continual consistency of the food and the friendly service. Try the different curries and don’t forget to add a Thai iced tea.
After a hard day working in your storage unit, simply drive around the corner and you’ll find an amazing selection of Italian pasta dishes, salads and delightful desserts at Pasta Bella Ristorante. This locally owned Italian restaurant has been serving the good stuff since 2003 and remains a favorite of ours because of their different sauces made from scratch and the fresh ingredients used. Fill your belly with ravioli and be sure to save room for the irresistible tiramisu.
Roxx on Main features fine, fresh food that’s all organic and wild, as well as locally grown, when possible. Executive Chef Lesley Stiles and Chef de Cuisine Tony Lauro have created an incredible restaurant with the goal of being a sustainable part of the community. Dining at Roxx on Main makes you feel good knowing the origin of your food in the comfort of a friendly, neighborhood restaurant. We love visiting Roxx on Main on the weekends when they have live music.

Nature for Naturalists
John Muir, one of the United States’ most famous naturalists, lived in a 14-room Italianate Victorian mansion surrounded by 325-acres of native grassland and oak woodlands in Martinez. The John Muir National Historic Site, located a few short moments from SPS Martinez, honors the life of Muir. Visitors can enjoy various activities including a 20-minute film at the Visitor’s Center about Muir’s contribution to conservation.
Admiring nature comes easily in Martinez, as Muir himself could attest. One of our favorite nearby outdoor destinations is Carquinez Strait Regional Shoreline. The park takes up 1,568 acres of bluffs and shoreline along Carquinez Scenic Drive. From the highest elevations, you can see the marshland of Benicia State Recreation Area to the north across Carquinez Strait. Many consider this park one of the most underrated hiking destinations in the Bay Area.
