Cuisine From Around the World
The best part about living in this Chula Vista neighborhood is the proximity to so many different cuisines from around the world. Within minutes of SPS Chula Vista, you’ll feel like you booked an eating tour through Asia. Himalayan House Restaurant is a bright spot for Indian and Nepalese bites. One of our favorite nearby restaurants is Pho Bo Restaurant, which serves delicious Vietnamese food with good prices, great portions and a friendly staff. Don’t forget to also try Teriyaki Grill and Tuktan Thai Food to round out your food tour!
Italgo Pasta Bar takes the food tour to Italy. This small, hidden gem has it all, from flavorful pasta and sauces to whole pizza pies. Try the cream of lobster soup with some homemade bread and add a strawberry lemonade.
Round out your world tour of food at El Cruce +241, the first and only restaurant in San Diego’s Couth County dedicated to Baja cuisine. Savor flavors from south of the border, right here in Chula Vista. El Cruce +241 uses fresh Baja ingredients to create flavorful, high-quality food you’ll be eager to come back and enjoy again and again.
Chula Vista Attractions
Go Wild in Chula Vista
Living in Chula Vista places you near sandy beaches, sunshine and plenty of saltwater. One of our favorite spots to get outside is the San Diego Bay Wildlife Refuge, located minutes from SPS on the banks of San Diego Bay. The salt ponds provide a foraging and resting habitat for a variety of bird species, while the leaves around them make for important nesting habitat for seven species of ground nesting birds. The predominant native habitat includes shallow, subtidal areas as well as intertidal mudflats. The South San Diego Bay Unit of the Wildlife Refuge protects wildlife species that were endangered or threatened, providing them with an exclusive habitat.
During the winter months, take a monthly guided birding tour from the San Diego Audubon Society in an area that is normally closed to the public. Observe all of the different species as you hike along the Bayside Birding and Walking Trail. While you’re there, stop by Living Coast Discovery Center, which is an interactive center focused on animals native to the San Diego Bay such as stingrays and sea turtles.
Ocean Breeze in Chula Vista
One of our favorite events each year is the Chula Vista Harbor Fest. Typically, visitors to the festival enjoy live music and entertainment, an interactive discovery zone for the kids, a gourmet taco and craft spirits showdown and plenty of food to go around. You can also indulge in local eats as you wander down Food Truck Alley or sample wines on a sun-filled day with the cool ocean breeze setting the scene.
There’s always something fun and interesting to do in Chula Vista. From sunny beach visits to tasting your way through the city, Chula Vista never disappoints.
