SPS custom face mask At Security Public Storage, we pride ourselves on being at the forefront of health and safety at our self-storage facilities on the West Coast and in the Washington D.C. metro area. We know moving is already stressful enough without the added concern of Covid-19. We’ve taken the health and safety of our customers and staff seriously throughout the entire pandemic and continue exercising the necessary precautions as our offices open. Moving is a necessity for many individuals and families and it’s important to do so safely.

Using Self Storage When Moving

Many people use self storage when moving and during times of transition. Self storage offers movers a reliable and secure place to store their belongings. Moving often requires self storage when downsizing or if you need a place to keep your belongings before new housing becomes available. Perhaps you had to be out of your current home before your new house closes, for example. No matter the reason, movers want to ensure their health and safety while visiting self-storage facilities.

What SPS is Doing to Protect Your Health and Safety

sps safety protocol for tenants All 50 of our self-storage facilities have remained open during the Covid-19 crisis with staffed, but closed, offices. We have reopened our offices with enhanced safety precautions in place to protect you and our staff. We continue to follow the recommended CDC guidelines and comply with all government orders.

Our site managers have implemented advanced cleaning and safety precautions in our offices and they all wear face coverings. All common touch points are disinfected after each customer interaction, including door handles, countertops, touchscreens, tablets, chairs restroom keys, pens and other surfaces touched by customers. Our managers wash their hands frequently and after each transaction.

What We’re Asking Customers to Do

We ask everyone who enters our offices to maintain 6’ social distancing. If you need to move around the office to reach for merchandise, for example, you must still maintain 6’ physical distance between yourself and employees at all times. Our offices have new “Stop Sign”-style floor decals to demonstrate the 6’ distancing guideline. Additionally, we ask:

  • Do not enter if you have a cough or fever or have been in contact with someone who is sick.
  • One customer in the office at a time, with the exception of offices that can accommodate two customers.
  • Face coverings are required*.
  • When you enter, please use the hand sanitizer just inside the door.
  • Maintain at least 6′ distance from others throughout the facility, both indoors and outdoors.

*If you do not have a face covering, disposable masks will be available as you enter the office. The table where you can find a mask will be sanitized after each customer contact.
